Dream feed
« on: November 09, 2010, 20:50:39 pm »
Should I do it or not?! I didn't have good experience with it with my odd. It just never worked. I haven't tried it with my son (almost 3.5 months). Does it really work? His night schedule is, roughly, this:

7:15pm bed/asleep
12:00-1:00am feed
4:00am feed
7:00am wake and feed

I'd LOVE to eliminate the midnight-1:00am feed as I normally only get 2 hours sleep before he wakes for this. If I try and dream feed him at 10, do you think he might go another 5-6 hours? Therefore, not eating again till about 4am? I'm just worried, I'll dream feed him at 10 and then he'll still be up at 1am and then again at 4. :(

Honestly, the only way to know is to try!  Some babies respond really well to the dream feed and do give you a longer stretch of sleep, with a few others it can actually disrupt sleep patterns.  The only way to know is to do it for a week (it can take that long to kick in) and see if it has a positive impact for you.  Here's some "how to" info on getting started:  http://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=65750.0
