Hi,
I used to have a thread on the EASY board. I started BW at the beginning of October when my baby was 5.5 months old. He was waking up to 10 times a night and refusing to nap in the day. I made some progress and the NW's got down to between 1 and 4 a night which was a huge improvement but not ideal. He now falls asleep independently for 2 naps a day.
3 weeks ago my husband had to go and work abroad so I went to stay with my mum. This is where everything started to go backwards. LO was unsettled at my mum's and was waking more often, I put this down to the change of scene and carried on with PUPD and my EASY schedule as best I could - this was not easy as we had lots of visitors etc. Things just got worse and worse. By the end of last week (just before I came home), LO was waking every hour, crying.
In the two weeks I was away, LO learnt to roll over both ways, sit up and he got a tooth which I think was contributing to these wake ups. Now we are back it seems like he is still teething, has a cold and has had an upset tummy the past few days. Since Friday, LO has woken every 30 mins! All Night! I am having to sleep on the floor in his room ( I say sleep, I mean lie down...) and I just don't know where to begin to start putting this right.
His EASY daytime is below:
Awake 7.30 ish
7.30 BF
8.30 solids - we are BLW so it is a bit hit and miss how much he swallows.
10.00 wind down (slow dance to lullaby, lie in cot, switch projector on)
11.30-12.00 awake and BF
1.00 solids
2.15-2.45 nap (with above wind down - LO normally sleeps between 50 mins and 1 hour 15 mins)
3.30-3.45ish awake and BF
5.00 solids
5.45 bath
6.15-6.30 BF, wind down, bed
we are giving calpol and ibuprofen for the teething pain. He does not have a paci and will not drink out of a bottle. I do not feed him at nighttime unless it has been 4 hours since the last feed.
PUPD is not working for us at the moment. LO us screaming even louder if pick him up so we are trying to settle as much as possible in the cot. LO settles quite easily sometimes but at the moment is alwats awake within 20-45 mins.
Any advice would be great - we are very exhausted!
