need advice about the catnap - do I wake him?
« on: December 05, 2010, 01:32:13 am »
my LO is 3 months old and I feel like I am always waking him from his catnap to feed and then trying to put him back to bed and he never does. It always takes almost an hour to put him back. Should I just let him sleep? I put my EASY below.
yesturday's EASY:
E 8:00
S 9:25-10:00/10:10-11:00
E 11:00
S 12:35-1:15/1:30-2:20
E 2:20
S 4:00-4:30
E 5:10
S 6:00-7:00 (this is where I usually wake him because my goal is to get him to bed by 8:00 or 8:30 and I don't want him to sleep through bedtime
E 7:25
S 8:40-9:10/9:30-10:00 (this was off and on and it was hard to get him to stay sleeping - this should be bedtime.)

It is now 7:30 and he has been sleeping since 7... do I wake him??????? I don't know. I think if he is still sleeping by 7:45 I will? PLease help!

I'd say if he is sleeping well I'd just do an early bed time. What would happen if you just let him go and sleep then do a DF at 10?

Otherwise I'd do a shorter CN, maybe 30 min, and then see if that helps to reduce his A time before bed.

HTH.

well he woke on his own at 7:45, so I treated like a NW kinda, fed, changed, lullaby and in bed. He isn't sleeping yet, but still lying there, not crying, yet. It is 8:30 now. I don't want him to sleep through as then he would miss that feeding and usually if I can get all 6 feedings in, usually he will STTN, so I def don't want to miss one. I am jus finding bedtime hard. Next time maybe I will wake after 30 mins.
thanks.
p.s. what is HTH?

Hope that helps :-)

yes, I understand not wanting to miss the feed, and to be honest I still struggle at bed time a little. My LO usually wakes after 45-60 minutes and needs PU/PD to get back to sleep. Eh, such is life :-) This too shall pass.
