Help! Unprecedented NW in my 13mo
« on: December 18, 2010, 21:11:23 pm »
Hi, I'm at my parents on vacation and my lo has just woken screaming from his bed, I waited a min and as the crys were escalating I went in picked him up and he eventually calmed so input him back down and left room. He then started to scream again so I went back in and picked him up by which time he was sobbing :(. I then cradled hom for a few mins and put hom in bed with my hand on his back. He eventually settled znd I left the room. 10 mins has passed and he is crying again! I've let him cry a few mins and he has gone quiet. I feel so bad and unbelievably never had to deal with upset NW before......... Have I done this right? :-(

Hi there,
He may just be a little unsettled and needing some extra reassurance from you while away.
If he is very upset I would be with him trying to settle but if it is a mantra cry then yes leaving him is fine.
Hope he settles for you....

Mantra cry? Is that a cry in his sleep? He did settle for the night off the back of me letting him self settle but he only cried for about 30 seconds and wasn't the hard cry of the first time round. Lo is now in bed for the night and we will see what gives tonight! He did a very messy poop overnight and that is so unusual here so maybe he has a poorly tum and that woke him initially, who knows tho.....
