Hi!
I am in need of some help. We have come here in the past, and I have found a fresh pair of eyes seems to help. Here's our situation...
Until about 3 weeks ago, we were going to bed around 6:30pm and up at 6:15-6:45 am. Lex would wake once around 3 am for a quick bf . This feed was getting shorter and shorter, and after it dropped to less than 5 min, I decided it was time to nightwean. I decided to go cold turkey. When she woke, I went in and resettled her. Here's the problem. She does not go back to sleep. For 4 days, she was up for 2+ hours in the middle of the night. She doesn't get upset, just shouts and does a bit of mantra crying. I decided that maybe she was not ready to wean, and went back to feeding. A few days later, she slept through the night on her own. then, last night, she woke up early (1am) I fed, but then she was up again from 4-6:30am. I was so tired, I let her sleep from 6:30-7:20. So, I need some advice.
What do I do???
More details...
she goes to sleep on her own for all naps and at night. She has a lovie-a blanket, but also has a bear she likes to play with when she wakes early. He is also in her crib. She sleeps in her own room. She is exclusively breastfed.
She recently began crawling (about a week ago, in the midst of this).
No teeth yet, and no signs of any coming (if I can say that)
Our EASY:
Wake 6:30ish
So, what would other mothers do? Leave her as long as she isn't crying? Go to her, don't go to her? Continue to feed? Wean? gotta tell ya'll, I am sooo tired of waking up at night!
