What can this be? Advice needed, pretty Please x
« on: January 06, 2011, 08:41:45 am »
Hi

I was wondering of anyone could shed any light  :'( Since New Years Eve my DD nights are allover the place, normally she goes to bed at 7am -7pm, often she will wake but not crying, she will just look around her room for a few mins and then nod off. For the past few days we have been putting her to bed and she has been going off to sleep fine but between 10pm and 12pm she wakes up SCREAMING!!!!! A scream I have never heard, its awful!!! :'( :'( I have left her for a couple of mins but it gets worst and worst!!!!! I weened a dummy a few months ago doing PUPD and didn't hear her cry like that! I have tried to go in and put my hand on her chest but she starts crying harder!!! If I pick her up she crys harder still!!! Is she even awake I'm not sure! We can calm her but by this point she is fully awake and the last couple of nights I have been able to lay her in my bed and get her to sleep although takes ages!!!

It's so out of chareter for her and I'm so lost! She is 8 months and 2 weeks old with no teeth yet, she seems to be teething al the time but no teeth have aarrived. Could teeth be the cause of it? I'm pulling my hair out trying to work out what it is  ??? Her day time naps are pretty good.

HI there, if it's out of character and given her age, I would put my money on the teeth.  What remedies are you using for her teeth?  Have you tried pain meds before bed?  Maybe post your routine so we can see the naps and everything.

The tweaking never stops!

I have also read somewhere about Night Terrors- could be about that age although I really can't remember. Good news is that they DONT remember them so She shouldn't be scared.
I hope you can sort it. x

Hello again!

We had a nightmare start first 6 months but her routine has been excellent for the last 2 months with lots of hard work, weening Dummy! I have been given her a mixture of Calpofen and Calpol, on the nights she wakes she has been hysterical, not even stopping when I pick her up :( That's why I am so confused as to how to handle it when she wakes :(

Wakes 7am
Sleep 10am
Wakes 11.15pm ish
Sleep 2.15pm
Wake 3.45pm
Bed 6.45pm

Hi there, have you tried an A increase?  8 mths can normally do a bit more than 3 hrs.  Her first nap looks a tad UT.

Hi there, at 8 mths I think you can go to 15 mins without major issues.  But it all depends on the LO.  I'd try 3.25 for the first A time and then see if you can get a full nap out of her, at least 1.5 hrs.
