That sounds like a great lunch Sophie and Jo!

Today we had:
- Breakfast: 3 small bites toasted, buttered whole grain English muffin, milk, freeze dried fruit (very little). Refused oatmeal mixed w fruit puree
- Morning snack: bite of Mommy's pumpernickel bagel with tofu, some cheerios, small bite of bread, milk
- Lunch: Less than half jar sweet potato/chicken, almost half of a half grilled cheese sandwich, milk, 6-7 Just Peas. Refused pieces of fried chicken breast
- Afternoon snack: milk, Just Bananas, small piece of hard pretzel while out in stroller
- Dinner: Milk, 2 small bites Perdue chicken nugget, 3 tiny bites meatball, 6-7 Just Peas, Veggie Booty, Just Strawberries (lot of them)
- Bedtime: Milk, few cheerios

Milk total for day: about 16 ounces. Juice total 5 ounces diluted apple juice. Has basically been totally refusing purees for the most part, which is to be expected but hard to get in protein and especially veggies otherwise. Also teething badly.

Karen:  What is the Just Bananas and Just Strawberries that you are giving Marisa?

Also we took Zach to the Feeding Clinic on Tuesday.  He starts Feeding Therapy Monday.  They are going to teach him skills on how to chew and consume more food.  They said that a lot of the reason his foods are coming out whole (apples, pears, banana's,green beans, etc.) is because he is not chewing.

They also did a ton of blood test and stool test.  If you look at his weight on the weight curve it has been going down since 8 months old.  Not that he has lost weight, just he has not gained enough.  Also he has had 3 infections in the past 2 months and 3 different antibotics.  They are concerned about the # of infections viral and bacteria that he keeps getting.  :(  They are testing him for Celiac Disease, his Iga and Igg antibodys, Basically if anything is wrong with him, they will be able to see it.

Lets just pray nothing is wrong with my little man :(

This is an interesting and a very helpful thread. Why did I not see it till now.
Ds is 16 months now. He has only 7 teethes. He is not a a very picky eater but he eats very small portions. On good day he can eat

wake milk

breakfast 3/4 bread/waffle, 1/4 apple/pear, 1/2 egg or some tofu

lunch 1/4 cup rice or 3/4 slice bread with 2-3tbl egg salad 1tbl any veggie 1/2 apple

snack yobaby
snack milk some fruit
dinner same as lunch but lesser amt
bed milk

total milk 16-20 oz mixed with carnation instant breakfast mix. no juice only water

on worst days

milk 8-10 oz
1/2 egg
1 bread
1/2 fruit
1 yobaby
for the whole day

Ok now I have some questions when I see his poop(gross), I see pieces of carrot, beans, peas, grapes etc undigested is this normal? He chew well with the few teethe he has. How should I calculate the calories when half of what he eats comes undigested.
I never thought being a mother will make me look at what our lo eats and poops. But I still love him so much.

batuki05:  My lo has the same problem with whole foods coming out.  I think a lot of it is normal (carrots, beans), but in our case he poops out bananas, apples, pears, green beans, freeze dried foods, bascially to to the point you could re-cycle them (sorry).

We got Zach's test results back in and the place that did his blood work and stool test messed up, so we have to re-test him.  But he did get one test back and it showed that his Alkaline phosphatase level was increased.  He said that is the enzyme that is related to your liver and bones.  From what I have read online it is common for people that have a Vitamin D defiency, but also can mean a lot of worse stuff.  The doctor said not to worry myself over it.  Yeah hard to do.

Anyhow we started feeding therapy Monday and the are supposed to teach him how to chew.  We will see.  Monday bascially they just watched him from another room while he ate.

Also he now only drinks PEDIASURE and loves it.  So any of your lo's that are having problems with eating, you may want to consider it.  Zach went from drinking 8 ox. of Milk to about 16/ 18 oz. of Pediasure.

Things seem to be getting better today.  He has been eating a little better.

Today was:

Wake: 9 oz. Pediasure
Breakfast: 1/2 bowl cereal
Lunch: 2 mini corndogs, 1 fruit cup
Snack: 6 mini fig newtons
Dinner: 10 green beans and 4 bits of mash potatoes
Snack: Cup of applesauce
He also drank Pediasure all through out the day.

Actually that does not seem like a lot at all.. Okay so it was a bad day...

My Picky todler so far today ate:

7.30am - 1.5 weetbix and milk and then 1 dry weetbix on it's own (eww!) and a cup of milk.  1 x Apricot fruit bar

10am - water and 2 X strawberry fruit bars and 1 x Apricot fruit bar (we were in the car, easy thing to eat on the run)

12.15pm - Lunch 1 x vegemite sandwich (standard favourite) 3/4 banana, cup of milk.

He is asleep at the moment.  Will see how the rest of the day goes.  Dinner is always our biggest struggle.

Was reading this thread (which I was a BIG part of back with DD who is now 5 and a GREAT eater) and thought I'd revive it as DS is getting pickier and pickier. Maybe we can sticky it also?

So far today DS (16 months) has eaten:

B: small piece challah french toast and some blueberries
L: 3/4 yogurt, few tiny bites turkey/veggie burger

Lately he's been refusing most meats and lots of veggies. Argh.

Just attempting again to revive this thread in case anyone has things their picky eaters eat that might help others!

Yesterday my picky almost 20-month old ate:

B: 2 small homemade silver dollar pancakes (with added oat bran for more nutrition), small all natural fruit smoothie pouch (100% fruit)
L: applesauce, half a toasted whole wheat mini-bagel with butter
S: goldfish crackers, banana
D: pizza

Today so far:

B: slice of homemade challah french toast, half a banana
L: 2/3 a yogurt, 1/3 an all natural pouch of banana, beet and blueberry
