Hi All,
I'm a bit confused about this as if he feeds at 4pm and this takes 45 minutes, is there no activity time, but he should go straight to sleep? If he then sleeps for 40 mins and wakes up at around 5.30, do I have to keep him awake until the next feed at 7pm? I'm not sure I could do that without it being a screaming fit!

He is waking often during the night and more recently difficult to get back to sleep after the 4am feed, and more or less wide awake from 6am (I don't feed him until 7a,m). I was wondering if letting him sleep too long for his last nap is affecting this. For example, he slept badly at his 2pm feed yesterday, so I thought I would let him sleep longer on his last nap of the day to make up for it, but that's probably a mistake right?

Thanks for looking x

Hi There,
Thanks for thinking of me!
He is still waking up frequently during the night, but on Saturday night my husband and I took turns to monitor him for most of the night and it seems he is passing wind and waking up in pain. We resettle him every time this happens, but despite winding him as much as we can, using gripe water and Infacol, nothing seems to help him.
Today when feeding him, he seems to be worse, arching his back and refusing to feed and crying inconsolably  :(
I've made an appointment to see my doctor tomorrow.

About the last nap time, I am still a bit confused. Yesterday I fed him at 4pm, let him sleep 5-6pm and woke then woke him up. After about 5 minutes he was crying and crying, so I gave him a long bath early (I normally bath him after his 7pm feed) and tried to stop him crying for an hour until it was 7pm and ready to feed him again. Is this normal? I think I will find it hard to keep him up and happy for that long every day, but I know the nap is meant to be only 40 minutes at this time.

Thanks again!

I think the last nap is difficult for you is bc of the pain and discomfort, perhaps. I would limit his last nap to 30-45 mins and put him to bed in less than an hour.
