can't get my 6 week old to nap
« on: April 17, 2011, 19:58:38 pm »
Hi this is my first time posting on this board. My little girl is 6 weeks old tomorrow and I'm struggling to get her to nap. She will fall asleep fine if we are in the car or she is in the buggy and we have had a few successes with her falling asleep in the car seat at home. HOwever, she will NOT sleep in her moses basket at all. At night it can take up to 2 hours for her to fall asleep (she won't feed to sleep) and during the day I usually end up giving up after 45 minutes or so. I have a 2 year old as well so I can't spend ages getting her to fall asleep. I have tried to keep her 'awake' time to 90 minutes or less before putting her down but with no luck. Does anyone have any tips?

I think the awake time may still be too long if it is around 90 mins. I would try putting her down after only an hour, and see if she falls asleep any quicker.
