Weaning Night Feeds
« on: May 04, 2011, 13:26:30 pm »
Okay, so my LO is 16 weeks old. I am not trying to wean him from all night feeds, but here is my problem. He has a DF somewhere between 10 and 11. He was down to one NF after that sometime between 2am and 3am and then up at 7am. Then he had his 4 month growth spurt and started taking 2 NF after the DF before up at 7. I know I was supposed to just give him more to eat during the day, but he wouldn't take any more and he was already eating 8 oz at each feed. The growth spurt is over, and he is back to his normal 6 oz. BUT he still wants those 2 NF. The past few days he hasn't taken his 7am bottle, which of course throws the rest of our day all out of whack, including his naps. I know he needs to go back down to no more than 1 NF. I have a "plan" but I just wanted to check with you ladies to make sure I am not being to unreasonable. I will not feed him before 3am and after that feed I will not feed him until 7am. If he doesn't eat until after 4 I will only give him a few ounces to tide him over till 7. I will of course continue the DF. Does that sound right? I dont want to be cruel here.  ??? Thanks for any thoughts

He stopped waking up for the first NF on his own  :) Just cut our first tooth so I guess that was the problem. Thanks for listening.
