my 14wk dd is bf has been on EASY 3hr from around 7 weeks, and pretty much to schedule, waking at 7am, to bed at 7.30/8pm, df at 10.30/10.45. One nw at around 2.30-3.30am,only for a cuddle...

...until just under 2 weeks ago when she had her 12 week injections and since then she can't take 1.5hr naps on her own-she wakes after 30-45mins.

Not only this but she cries and screams before each S, which she never did before.  She's a very chirpy baby-textbook i'd say and never cried for anything except hunger but now she screams the place down even if it's only a couple of mins.

She has had 2 nw in the past two weeks at 3am for hunger. but only 2ice and took full feed.

I have been trying w2s but sometimes miss window, im exhausted from shh/pat now but used firm hold on upper arm today to extend nap. I keep A very very mellow-no gym either! but she still screams so i dont think it's OT..?

Last night was the worst which she has never done, waking at 3am, 4am, 5am, 6am. each time I shh/patted for 20mins until she woke again. she woke at 7 for feed, then i was so tired dh took over as i fell asleep-but kept her awake..until 9.35!(men!!)

she slept at 10am, and woke at 11.45 (i had also fallen asleep from exhaustion), but even when she woke she wasnt too bothered about feed even though it was around 4.45hrs since last feed!

so today's EASY has been almost 4hrs-
E 7am
A 7.20
S 10 no intervention
E 11.45
A 12
S 1.30
W 2.15 wide eyed, not crying
E 3
A 3.15
S 3.30 extended with w2s and firm hand on LO
A 5 with bath
E 7
S 7.30

sorry for such a long post, from a perfect 3hr EASY to an erratic one, should i perservere with a 4hr schedule straight away or transition it in, and has anyone else had crying issues post-injections, with LO needing extra security..? or is it all just a big cioncidence?

dd stopped being swaddled at 9 weeks, but i have started again today to make her feel secure today and she hasnt resisted.

Her first A time looks too long.  Is it always 3 hours?  Also, you need to count A time from when she wakes up to feed, not when she's finished feeding.  How's she been getting on the last couple of days?

The average A time at 4 months is 1h 45min - 2 hours.  I imagine she's OT and that's why you're having problems.

no no-that was a one off day-when dh took over, didnt wake me, so baby stayed awake (dh hates putting her to sleep). she wasnt grumpy on being put to sleep-went without fussing, and slept 1.45hrs.

she went from a perfect 3hr EASY 7am-7.30/8pm with one hab nw. she now has several nw, a 5am feed the past two days, her naps are assisted with w2s and shush pat; the w2s i havent quite succeeded at-perhaps im going in too early.

the past two days she has had 5am feeds, i have been so exhausted from all the wake ups i end up waking late, n so does dd!when wake at 8ish, dd is cooing in her cot. so am working on being stronger to wake at 7 again. aaarrrrgh

im working on a 3.5hr EASY towards a 4hr one hoping it will iron out the issues...

i'm not sure whether all these new nw are because i should have extended her schedule before, or if its due to dummy-she falls asleep fine without it (i take it out when her eyes are droopy n almost asleep) but seems like she needs it in the night regardless of shush/pat

is it worth weaning her and extending schedule at same time or do one then the other?

The nw's and ew sound like OT to me.  What are her usual A times right now?  Sorry can't advise on the dummy weaning as none of my guys have had one but you can get advise for that on the props board  :-*

her typical A time was 1hr15-1hr30, even when she went haywire.

I've now extended it to 1.45hrs using Tracey's 12-15day part of extending to 4hr EASY and watching for OT signs (I don't think I was watching out for this enough).

DD's nw's have reduced! so something is working..hopefully!
