Hi there, I have recently been weaning my DS from the breast which has been succesfull even though ATM we are sharing a bed. He used to wake and feed numerous times for comfort but now i have managed to get him down to one bottle in the night. He is still in my bed and wakes frequently but it is a lot better than it was and he uses a paci (although most of the time he spits it out)
I was just wondering if there are any other ways other than PU/PD  that people have had success stories with in the past.
I just wondered as i think i may have a spirited baby and as he is getting older I know this can sometimes be harder and would like to keep my options open to any other ideas before i go down the PU/PD route.

I think really this will prob be the best option, but I just want to make sure I have had a look into other things and am fully aware of all the other tricks  :)

Hiya,

A lot of it can be down to day sleep as well - is LO getting enough / too much / / too little / at the right intervals?

Is he able to settle to sleep by himself, or does he need your help or a prop?

It can also be down to intake as well - sometimes a DF can help, as can cluster feeding in the evening.

What's you EASY like at the moment?

Are you thinking of putting him on his own bed?

PU/PD is not an option if you are co-sleeping or if you are using a paci.

I would say you could try GW.

I want to get him in his own bed within the next couple of weeks as i have just weaned him from the breast then if need be I can do PU/PD myself and i wont be confusing him with the smell of my milk etc as it will dry up. He sometimes has a paci for sleep, and at the minute im using it alot more at night whilst im trying to stop the night feedings. He is fully off the breast now and still waking alot at night but I have managed to get him down to just one feed. Which this morn was 5 oz at 4.30.
He has 8 oz at 7am
breakfast at 8 am
then a nap between 9-9.30 (anything between 45 mins and 2 hours)
5 oz bottle at 11 ish
small jar baby food and dessert 12-12.30pm
another nap after 1pm (unless he only had 45 mins for 1st nap then he falls asleep sooner)
5 oz bottle 3pm ish
if he has only had 45 min naps then he usually has another nap between 4-5pm
small jar baby food and dessert 5-5.30pm
dependent on naps he has a bath between 6-7 pm
8oz bottle and bed
He then usually sleeps until 10-10.30 but has not been wanting the dream feed lately so im going to try stopping that tonight as it was mentioned that this can disturb sleep once they are 7 months.

I tried Pu/PD at 5 months and he started going off without the dummy but by the 3rd night he was waking even more than usual and we had guests staying so we gave up :(
Will have a read of the bentle removal plan once he is off to sleep, thanks xx
