8 month old - EW
« on: June 01, 2011, 22:20:45 pm »
Hi, so I've been doing PU/PD for 4 days now and was wondering about my DD's EWs. She's been waking up 4-6 am every morning for few months now. Sometimes she goes back to sleep until 7 but if she wakes up after 530 it's very hard to get her back to sleep. So was wondering how to tackle that...or should I just wait a week or two and hope that as her sleeping gets better it will sort itself out? And how do I go about doing that since she's not exactly upset, she tumbles and chats to herself in the crib so I can't really PU/PD....

Our day looks like this btw:

700 am - Formula and Solids
930 am - Nap
1100-1130 am - Formula and Solids
230 pm - Nap
400 pm - Formula
500 pm - Solids
700 pm - Formula and Bed

Thank you any help would be awesome :)

Sorry forgot to mention:

- Naps are usually 1-2 hours, sometimes need to help extend with PU/PD (Put in sleeping bag, close curtains, turn on classical music, say "Going to sleep now ok" and sit in chair for 5 mins) Sometimes goes straight to sleep, sometimes takes half an hour of WI/WO because she wants to stand up or tumble in the crib
- Bedtime routine starts around 615 with bath/top-to-toe, bottle, sit down for 15 minutes for burping, usually asleep when getting burped but woken up briefly when put into the crib. No NF, wake ups usually:
9 pm - cries for a few seconds but goes back to sleep
10 30 pm - PU/PD easy to get back to sleep
1230 am - PU/PD easy to get back to sleep
230 am - PU/PD easy to get back to sleep
430 am - PU/PD and that's when it gets hard to get her back to sleep.

As of last week she has no paci so I dont think she's had props since then. Gave her many loveys but not interested in any of them.

Could be teething, could be that she needs more A time before bed... I see that she only has about 3 hours?  Maybe cut her pm nap so that she has more time awake before bed and see what happens.

I would try that for sure... You might even find you have to stretch closer to 4 hours A time before bed...

Hi Kara I tried it last night, put her to sleep at 6 because she woke up from last nap at 2pm. She woke up at 7, 10, 2.30am, 4.30am where I fed her just to see if she'll go back to sleep and she did until 6. Still a bit of NWs but did more good than harm it looks like so I might try 4HR A time see what happens :)
