Fighting pm nap(2-1)
« on: May 31, 2011, 20:58:08 pm »
We are doing long am/short pm nap for Alyssa. She is on the higher side of A times-very high for her age. she is really close to one nap and lately she has been fighting her pm cn.  Not sure if I should just try doing more AP for this nap or just ride it out.  Today for instance, she didn't fall asleep for her Cn until 4:50pm. I plan to give her a 20min CN and aim for an 8pm bt.  Here is how today went:
wake 7am
nap 11:20am-12:55pm ( woke up briefly)
aimed for a CN at 4:30pm. Not sure if she was just OS by this time. Didn't fall asleep until 4:50pm.
Any suggestions on making the 2-1 a little easier?

I can't believe this girl! I have this awful pit in my stomach ATM.

I am confused here. I don't know if i should continue what I am doing or switch to short am/long pm nap.

any ideas, anyone???

Hi there Sabs, posted on your EASY post.  I really think you are headed for 1 nap with those high A times.

You can *try* short AM/long PM as it worked for us for a very very short time but really, it was a big pain to manage and no one was happy.  But certainly worth a shot if you are not keen to jump to 1 nap so soon.

the more I think it about it, Wendy, the more I am leaning to jumping to one nap. She only napped about 1.5hours in the am and is now fighting her pm nap. The only thing that concerns me is that she is not napping more then two hours.  :'(

One nap, cold turkey - go for it!  ;)

Can you hold her out for a 12pm nap?? I always found well timed meals/snacks handy for this.

Why don't you try the short am nap for a week and see what happens? I avoided it like th plague as I just knew Olly would refuse to go for a long nap so I APOP'd a pm CN and we had late BTs for ages. At 10 months we dropped to 1 nap and it was horrible. It co-incided with illnesses and teething so we went back to 2 naps and he was prob 13 months when he eventually went to 1.

we had the stomach bug and is doing much better now.  I haven't pushed out her A time yet as this morning she wanted to go down 4hrs after WU. She napped for 1hr and 25min and was down again 4hrs later for 30min.  BT came around she wouldn't settle. She was trying to settle and it seemed she couldn't get comfortable. Hubby had to intervene.
