Feeding in the morning...
« on: July 19, 2011, 15:45:30 pm »
My daughter turns 3 months tomorrow, we are both finishing up our colds. which has completely thrown us off schedule and all the sleep progress we were having.
My question is, this morning she woke up at 2am and ate about 4oz then she woke up at 6 but only had about an ounce. she was tired so I put her back to sleep, she woke up at 730 so I made a bottle assuming she would be hungry since she hasnt ate much since 2. she wants nothing to do with it. she is as happy as a clam playing on her activity mat right now. is this normal?
So now her schedule today is definitely not EAS, because im sure as soon as she eats she will be tired so I will have to put her down, which means she wont be hungry when she wakes from her nap. so her schedule is going to be ESA which i dont want!
what do i do!?!?

It looks like you will be having one of those days when you just have to follow her cues and wing it! I'm not sure what to suggest really, see how well she sleeps and how she is when she wakes up, try and get back on track but if you can't try again tomorrow.

If she wakes before the time you want to start the day try resettling her first and feed her if she doesn't resettle quickly or wakes again soon after.

I think we all have those days where you just have to wing it!

But you could just give her a little bit before her nap to get her through with the hope that she will eat a bit more after her nap to get you back on track :)
