Do I need to burp my baby after night feedings?
« on: August 07, 2011, 05:03:52 am »
Do I need to burp my baby after night feedings or do I lay her just back to bed after I breastfed her? I am just afraid something could happen if she does not get burped. But I also don't want to wake her up when I burp her.

It seems to memthay Tracy said you don't need to for a dream feed because they naturally deal with he gas. I know I didn't burp ds st night and didnt jav a problem. It's been a while so maybe someone else has some more recent input.

I burped DD cos she was usually very gassy. But didn't disturb her sleep.

I do not burp my LO - I'm happy when she is asleep for once :) - she is very gassy and used to be colicky - however I do not have a problem not burping her. No burp for DF's nor night feedings.

Usually when a baby nurses while they are asleep or sleepy they are relaxed enough to not need a burping.  I wouldn't usually burp my LOs for middle of the night feedings if I could avoid it.
