Is there help for cat nappers?
« on: August 24, 2011, 02:13:54 am »
My son is a terrible cat napper- has been since birth.

He'll nap for 15-45 minutes (usually around the 20 minute mark) and I mean I don't get it- how can I force him to sleep longer? There seems to be no rhyme or reason.

I can put him down when he's completely exhausted, or just mildly tired.

Will this actually help transform his naps to longer?

How old is he? What happens when he wakes? Des he scream out, just open his eyes and chills or try to resettle but cant?

Can you post your EASY? :)

I haven't started EASY yet... I am starting on thursday. I was just asking specifically about cat naps... I did post a question about the beginning EASY routine though in another area...

Okay I see. There are a number of ways that you can work on extending naps, it really depends on your LOs age, temperament, routine, if they suffer from any medical conditions ie reflux etc. But yes, there are ways you can help your LO to learn to sleep longer. Have you looked at the FAQs in the Naps and General Sleep boards?
