Nap/schedule help!
« on: November 01, 2011, 12:38:21 pm »
Well, we are in an interesting predicament  ???.....

DS (15 months) has still been on 2 naps. It's what he needed and what seemed to work with our schedule. Last Friday, he started fighting the 2nd nap. Good and bad. Good b/c I could get him on one nap and it really helped the EWs. Bad b/c it's horrible timing with dd's school drop off/pick up.

So you can see, here's the schedule he's been keeping for months:
5:45-6 WU
10-10:20 nap (I wake him)
1:00-2:30 nap
7:00 BT

Last Thursday and over the weekend, he had this schedule:
7:00 WU
11:15-1:00 nap
6:45 BT

Problem: As much as I'd love to get him on one nap, I have to take dd to school M/W/F and we leave at 12:10. Then I have to leave to pick her up at 2:40. So, if he keeps the one nap schedule, he will only be able to nap about an hour before I have to wake him to take her to school 3 days a week. Yesterday, I tried to get him to do 2 naps again (after waking at 7am) and it didn't go so well. He was down from 10-10:20 and I woke him. I put him down again at 1 and he woke on his own at 2. So, IDK.  ::)

I'm not sure where to go from here. I can't have him nap only 1 hr 3x a week. Yet, he doesn't seem to really want to do 2 naps (with 1 of them being more than an hour). Any suggestions?!

We were in this situation and as much as I hated it, I had to bite the bullet and keep my LO up.  He was waking around 6am too and I had to keep him up till I could put him down at 12:40pm.  It was sooooo long of a WT but I didn't have any choice.  But with your LO waking at 7am it might be a little more manageable.  It is so tricky with 2 kids and nap schedules.  I really need my LO to nap between 1and 3 but if he takes a long time to go to sleep and fights it then I'm screwed.  Is there anyone who could help with the drop off?
