Anyone want to have a good moan about 2nd year molar trouble?!!
« on: October 14, 2011, 07:27:00 am »
Hi Ladies,

Gosh those 2nd year molars are a pain somewhere else as well as the mouth!  ::) DS is 20 months and his nap is all over the place. His appetite is off and we're now having NW'ings sometimes 2 and sometimes EMW sometimes late  :o due to the NW'ings, our fabulous routine has dissapeared without a trace right now, can't wait for them to pop! Yesterday I got an excellent bite on my little finger..ouch that really hurts  >:(.

Anyone else suffering  ???

yes....we are big style and I am due with our 2nd LO in a week!!!! Our little boy used to go down for naps perfectly and self settle at night and now won't do either. He is waking every 2-2.5 hours in the night and sometimes around 2am is wide awake and doesn't want to go back to sleep!!!! It is killing me and I want my good sleeper back. I have no idea whether he is UT or OT, whether to shorten his daytime naps, whether to bring his BT forward to combat the NW's or whether that will make the EW's even worse. We are gutted as we had been using the glo clock and had even got rid of his dummy prior to all this kicking off!!

Thanks for the opportunity to vent!!!!

Hi Honey,

Oh Gosh what a pickle!!! I recognise EVERYTHING you wrote! We are the same. His nap I am perplexed about and the same as you I have tried longer and shorter A times and they both result in shorter naps than he used to take. At the moment I'm sticking to 5 hrs A time which is what it was before but he seems tired after 4hrs as he OT now. However I'm trying to balance his age/versus the teething  :-\. Last night saw 2 EW'ing but luckily a catch up night as I out him down at 6.30 and he woke at 7am for the morning. However the night before I did the same and he didn't tack on for the 1st time ever  :o we were up at 5.30. There is no consistency at all anymore. And like your LO the other night he woke at 2am jumping all over the cot snorting for 'Peppa Pig' TV programme and looking like for all the world it was morning  ::). I do find that giving Ibuprofen helps to settle him again in the night. I have even APOP'd milk and that has worked too.

What dreadfull timing for you with your new little angel on the way. I guess you couldn't anticipate that happening  :(. You poor thing, you must feel exhausted at this stage in your pregnancy too.

Here's hoping that those nasty molars pop soon  >:(. Thanks for letting me know we're not alone  ;).

Congratulations on your baby to be. I hope it's a super straight forward birth and the little one pops faster than those molars  :D LOL.xxx.
