extending naps - 4 month old
« on: October 27, 2011, 19:40:51 pm »
So I have had a lot of troubles with my DS naps.

We first could not get past the 30minute intruder unless we turned him onto his tummy. I know that seems unsafe but he is able to hold his head up and turn it from side to side.

He also tries desperately to break out of swaddle every nap. Today was our first day trying our nap with one arm out of the swaddle. He slept for an hour without having to flip him. But only an hour instead of 1.5 - 2hours. Should I go in a bit before the 1 hr and flip him or?

During the nap he moves his arm stuff but stays asleep.

At 17 weeks how long should his day sleep be?

Yesterday was our first night that we slept through the night, expect for a waking at 5:30 for a feed. That's good for his age right? Should I do the one arm out swaddle for the night as well?

Sorry for all the questions - really appreciate all the help

How have things been going?  Sounds like you might need to wean the swaddle if he's trying to break out of it.  Here's a link on the typical amounts of day/night sleep for you to have a look at:
