growth spurt?! help!!
« on: October 29, 2011, 14:56:09 pm »
My 4 mo baby girl has been a great sleeper- She was on a modified 3 hour easy and had been for about a month:
E: 7:30

S 9:30
E 11-11:30
A
S 1-1:30
E 2:30

S 5
E 5:30

E 7:30-sleep
DF 10:30
I had been almost feeling bad when people asked me how she was sleeping because she was so good and I'd just heard horror stories.  Anyway- I was transitioning her to a 4 hour easy since she always did the 4 hrs in the morning and had started spitting up more and the 5:30 feed kept getting pushed a little due to her later nap, or just not being hungry.  It was a super easy transition- just pushed her later feeds to 3:30 and then sleep at 7:30, so for 3 days, we did that, and she still slept through the night, I was amazed... then she hit this growth spurt and suddenly her naps are shorter, she wanted food more than even every 3 hours and has woken around 5:30 the past two mornings in need of food.  She also has a super stuffy nose, so maybe that could be part of it too?... I'm bfding so I can't just add more to the bottle, plus, when she's done feeding, she's done- it's not that there's no more milk, I can always still express milk after she's finished feeding.  I try feeding her more often, but I feel like she's not getting her full feed then (cause it's shorter, she doesn't seem super hungry) and I worry maybe I'm going to create a snacker who never gets the hind milk that will stick with her through the  night anyway... I have fed her the past three mornings- two days ago she went back to sleep, this yesterday morning she didn't really, and today she woke earlier at 4:30- I tried to shh/pat, not working, picked her up and she stopped crying, but started crying again before I could put her down again and was searching for my boob.... I fed her and she ate like a horse and fell back to sleep.  I have managed to keep her daily routine fairly routine- at least the morning part... though there's an extra feed in there and shorter napping... I'm so paranoid about falling into accidental parenting, but it's only been two days... tips?  We're also going on a trip in a few days for my sister's wedding so her schedule will be so messed up and I'm just way too worried about it all.
