Hello all..
My LO turns 20 months in 2 days and I am still struggling with getting him sleep thru the night..As a baby he was rocked/walked/fed to sleep. I started GW almost 6 months back now and I am now sitting on the chair just near the door...(yes it has taken this loong..
) He goes down to sleep well, sometimes needs a couple of pats or back stroking and reassurance, but mostly he will fall asleep on his own with me singing his lullabies. His routine is more or less like this..
5.45 - 6.45 - Wake up (this varies with what time he has slept and nap length as well)
7.00 - 12.15 - Activity
( Morning A time is 5.5/6 hrs)12.15 - 2.30/2.45 - nap
(nap is usually 2- 2.5 hrs)3.00 - 7.30 - A
7.30 - 8.15 - bedtime routine
( Total Evening A time is 5.5/6 hrs)8.30 - 8.45 pm - asleep for the night
NW - mostly 1 at 1.30 or 3.45 , it takes 45 -60 mins to settle him atleast..sometimes more
if I dont have NW, i will get the EW at 5.45 sharp and he will not sleep after that..resulting
in OT by nap time..
Oh.. and i sometimes need to give him milk for the NW if hes not had ne dinner/milk before going to bed
. I am in the process of weaning this
completely.
I am not sure what I need to do to ensure atleast 10.5 - 11 hrs sleep at night. I have tried capping the nap,
but it just shifts the NW to earlier or later , the duration is the same or it might result in the EW..
..
this has been going for more than a week now..whats the typical nap length for a 20 month old ?? please let me know..
all help appreciated..
thanks a bunch
