To all mums of children who are rubbish sleepers, read this.

My son was always rubbish at sleeping, wouldn't sleep through until long after his peers, wouldn't nap without huge battles, early waking...

Well I'm not so naive to think "I've cracked it!" because I know his next set of molars, or a cold, or an itchy foot will come and mess things up tomorrow but I just wanted to tell you...  My 18 month old has slept through for more than 11 hours, two nights in a row (we woke him up this morning).  He went down at bedtime with zero fuss and has now had his second daytime nap in a row where he completely put himself to sleep, no laying back down again, no shhing, no sitting with him etc and was asleep in only 10 minutes after waking later than normal this morning.

I can't tell you how shocked I am!  I was convinced my son was a low sleep needs child but yesterday he had a 1 hour 40 min nap and 11 hour 20 min bedtime sleep.  Who would have thought it!  He's Mr Average after all!   :o

As I said, I'm not hopeful it will last but what I do know is that every wobble we've had, we've got back from and eventually improved, so have faith you will get there!   ;D
Here's my blog which is focussed on simple food for babies, toddlers and families http://mamacook.blogspot.com/
