The truth is Sara I have no clue what works for my lil monkey!! Haha!

So today ended up like this
Wake 6
Nap 9:20-10:30
Nap 2:15/2:25-3:15
Bt took him in at 6:30 asleep by 6:50

So I will try my sample tomorrow I guess. I wish I could just follow your suggestion it looks good. But unfortunately I am restricted by dd pickup. Fun of having 2 lo!

On average what are A times for this age? He will be 11 months in a few days!

I just also wanted to say thanks heaps! You have helped me so much! I really appreciate it.

I would think he should be able to do 3.5 hours really. If he is hitting the 2-1 he should be getting close to 4 hours A. Really two naps of 1 hr or so may be all he needs while you are in the wonky phase, but given you will be eventually moving to 1 nap it is best to try to focus on giving your LO one long restful nap and gently cut the other one shorter.

Hugs, it's hard....but you may find after a few weeks you will get into a pattern. Gently try pushing out that AM nap and capping it short to get your LO tired enough for that PM nap.

Hi sara, I hope you're well. I just wanted to update you on what's happening and ask you for some more advice  :P,

For the past couple of weeks we have only been getting one short nap and one slightly longer nap of about 1h10 maybe 1h15 mins. No Lovely 1.5 hr nap. But in the past few days we have also been getting a few ew!! I don't want to go down that path so I really want to nip it in the bud. Here is our nap routine from the past few days. I'd love to know what you think about it.

Sunday
Wake 6:30 (after being awake from 5:15-5:45ish. I fed him back to sleep)
Nap 9:55-11
Nap 2:20-3:15
Bedtime - took him in at 6:30. He was sleepy but kept looking around for aaaaages and only fell asleep around 7:10. But then had the best early part of the night in ages. Slept till 11 woke, fed then had brief nw at 2 ish, but was up at 5:10 ish :o I snuggled with him till 6. He didn't feed back to sleep.

Monday
Wake 5:10 but started day at 6
Nap 9:10-9:45!! ( thought he'd sleep longer. Didn't seem ot or upset when he woke.)
Nap 1-2:15
Bedtime - took him in at 6. Fell asleep at 6:20. Had brief wake at 6:45. Ot?? Then cried for feed at 9. Fed back to sleep. Brief wake now at 11:30. He's been fussy with all milk feeds today. Maybe teeth again? He's cut through 2 already.

How do you think I should tweak his routine? I am trying to work up that first A time to 3.5 hr. But I haven't needed o wake him from the am nap. He usually wakes himself after 35-45 min. He hates being woken. If by some chance he does a longer am nap I don't put him down before 3.5 hrs A time for the pm nap.

Any ideas? Thanks heaps!

Hun I would pop over to the 2-1 sticky on the naps board and chat with the ladies going through the 2-1 it was a great support for me going through it on a day to day basis!

So I think you need to extend those A times a touch to discourage the EW. If you start your day no earlier than 6 then I would try to push the AM A time out a bit more before putting down for the nap. If its your short one then cap at 45 mins and try for the pm nap maybe hours after this? you can then do a longer A to BT

So maybe something like this if you get a 6am or earlier WU
WU 6
A 3.5 hrs
CN 9.30-10.15
A 3 hrs, shorter because nap is only 45 mins if 30 mins pull A back to 2.5 hrs max
Nap 1.00 or 1.15 for up to 2 hrs
A 3.5 to 4 hrs
BT ~ 7pm

What do you think?

Hi Sara, thanks for that. Well touchwood the past few days the ew have gone and we are having 6 am wu. But I am still unsure as to what to do!! He hate sing woken from a nap. So what's happening now is he s having his am nap after a 3h20 min A time which is one he is not fighting at the moment but onewhich he is waking after 35-45 min on hs own from. Much better than having a grumpy baby on my hands cos he got woken up!! I swear he is o angry!

But I was running into trouble with the next A time bcos he was just not tired enough at 3 hr. Probably cos his am A time was not a full one I reckon. Do you?

But today by chance his pm nap got delayed cos dd needed something. But he took a much longer nap! Our routine was like this

Wu 6
Nap 9:30ish - 10:20
Nap 1:50-3:10!!
Bt I took him in at 6:50 but he fussed a bit and only slept at 7:20 but woke up at 7:50!! Grrrr.

He is so strange. Yesterday he had 2 awful short naps but had a great night no early nws.??!! I can't figure it out. Do you think tonight 7;50 wu was ot or ut? And what are your thoughts about the pm A time?

Maybe he does need more A after a 45 min nap..... Try the same tomorrow for at next A and see if you get a good nap. If you do maybe push BT a bit later too. Your LO may have had a big jump in A time :)

Greats with the 6am WU :)

Hi Sara, just wanted to update again. Lately our routine has sort of been looking like this. He seems to be doinga 10.5-11 hr night but having 2 naps that are slightly longer than the used to be.

Wake 6ish
Nap 9:25/9:30 - 10:20/10:30 sometimes 1h10 min waking at 10:45
Nap 1:50/2 - 3/3:10 sometimes 1h0 min
Bt depending on wu time from nap I take him in at 3h45 mins then he usually falls asleep by 4th A time.

Touchwood the earlier part of his nights ave become a lot better.

What do you think?

We are going tobe away for 6 weeks on holidays so finally when I get things sorted it's all going to be up in the air again!!! Hopefully I'll be able to go with the flow while we are away.

Just wanted to wish you a lovely christmas and new years and thanks again or your help!! I'll probably be back soon a he gets closer to the 2-1!!!
