15 month old desperate help needed
« on: December 26, 2011, 17:49:11 pm »
Breast feeding is part of our everyday routine, the first thing when he wakes up I feed him and he finds comfort to the start of the day. Before his afternoon nap we go on my bed in my room I feed him a little then carry awake to his crib content and ready for a  2 hr nap. And then again at 645 we go on mommies bed have a small feed and then placed content but awake for the night.

Joshy is now 15 months old and I am desperate to stop, how do I break the routine?? He knows no different!!??!?! He loves mommies booby :(

I need to stop ?!?

My DD2 is nearly 15 months and we're still BFing those times! She's not keen to wean either!!

I would start with the PM feed and do a different winddown that doesn't include feeding in your bed then after that is established transfer the same routine to night. The morning you may just have to again change up the routine so straight to kitchen for a cup of milk. Are you wanting to stop all feeds?

Good morning , well if is not that I want to stop old turkey it is just feeling trapped now bec everything I do to try and reduce even one feed fails. I would love to have a third child too and I understand that the reason my cycles are so irregular is bec of the constant feeds.

Do you intend on continuing feeding?

Sorry only getting back to you now x

With my DD1 I weaned quite gradually and stopped at 18 months when I got pregnant with DD2. So I started breaking the habit of BFing at particular times. So some mornings we'd just get up, others we'd not do a feed after nap and some nights I'd go out and leave DH to do bedtime. Would that be a better plan for you? Maybe just start gradually changing things up a bit?

I don't know when I'm going to wean. I am sort of at the stage where I am feel I could stop and be happy about getting this far but then again I don't really mind it as we're already at the stage where I know I can skip feeds here and there and she doesn't mind. KWIM?
