The night feed has been around since the beginning.  I am thinking of bringing it back, because he is up EVERY night at 1:30-2:00 am and he seems very hungry.. will eat up to 5-6 oz.
This is our schedule now:
5:30 am wake up
10:00 - 10:45 1st nap
2-3:30 2nd nap
7:30 BT (been slowly trying to stretch BT to 8pm)
This passed Sunday he didn't go down until 11am for his 1st nap and he was down for 2 hours.  So that totally messed up his schedule.  By 6pm poor kid was dead tired so had to put his down by 6:30 and the usual 2 am feed and he was up at 5am!!!!
There is no winning with this child.
With all of my complaining about his night sleep I have to confess that otherwise he is a text book perfect baby.  He is a pleasure to be around and always smiling and happy.  He eats well and naps wonderfully and loves playing with his older brother.
I know he will eventually grow out of this on his own, just want to help him get a restful night sleep.

As of now he has yet to pick a lovey.. I think I am his lovey.  Although he knows how to put himself to sleep.. most of the time he is put into the crib awake and he complains and plains for a bit and then goes to sleep.  So the only issue is getting back to sleep in the middle of the night.

Hi how are things going? If you do feed in the night does your DS go straight back down?

Seems to be getting better.  When  I feed him at 2, he goes right back to sleep.  I've been putting him down at 8pm or later and he has been waking up at between 5:30 -6:30... and on a good morning close to 7!  When YDS sleeps then then the whole house sleeps..
I was thinking that I shouldn't be too hard on him or myself.  His first half of the night he sleeps from 8-2 which is a good chunk.   So I will keep feeding him at 2 until he stops himself.  He usually wakes up from his pm nap around 4, so I have been stretching bed time to 8:30.  We are going away next week, so don't want to start any drastic changes since all of us will be sleeping in the same room.

You are right about the 2am feed, if it is only the one NF and it settles him back down quickly then it isn't a worry. Either DS will give it up or you can wean it soon enough.

That night is still pretty short though isn't it? How much daytime sleep is your DS getting now? Is he low sleep needs at all? Usually short nights like that mean you need a bit of a routine tweak if you want me to take a look?

Both of my kids are very early risers.  I wonder if its something I'm doing that makes them like that or is it just their internal clock.
Here is the routine we have now... Pretty similar to the one we had before, but since he refuses his pm nap sometimes I started cutting his am nap short and letting him sleep longer in the afternoon.
Also, I am with him only Saturday and Sunday and the rest of the week is grandma and nanny.
(I'm just going to copy from the first page and tweak the times to his new schedule)
5:30am - 6am Wake up (twice in the past week he slept til 6:45!!!!!  Not sure if its just an accident)
6:00 -8:00am Activity (he has the run of the house most of the day and he is all over the place)
8:00 am Fruit with cereal
9:45 6oz bottle of BM
10:15am - 11:00am am nap (usually he is up on his own with in 45 minutes)
11:00am -1:00pm Activity
1:00pm Lunch (usually a soup with different veggies and meat)
2:15pm – 3:45pm PM nap. (Sometimes he sleeps up to 2 hours)
3:45pm 6oz bottle of BM
6:00pm Yogurt with cereal
7:30pm Bath
8:00 Bed time.  (Nurse him before bed, sometimes he falls asleep and sometimes he doesn’t but he is very good with self soothing to sleep)
2am wakes for NF, nurse him for about 10 minutes and he goes right back down.
On the days that he refuses the morning nap, he gets to sleep as much as he wants in the afternoon.  On days that he refuses the afternoon nap, he goes to bed around 7pm.
Thanks for taking a look at this.

I think that your DS is definitely in the 2:1 transition so you are right to cap that first nap. It seems to be working well for you. This transition can cause short nights anyway, it did for us for a while. My only other thought is that the last A time to bed is quite long, this in turn is meaning that your DS is having a really long day. Long days always cause short nights in our house, so a 14h day gets us a 10hr night but a 12hr day gets us a 12hr night. Have you ever tried an earlier BT? Does your DS just wake even earlier then? Some LOs will do a set amount of night sleep no matter what but some respond well to an early night by sleeping for longer. What do you think?

Yeah.. no  matter what time YDS goes to bed he wakes up between 5-6am.  I stopped fighting it and just deal with it, its all temporary.. right???? lol
We used to have a bed time of 7pm.  But his second nap is later and there was not enough A time in between so he would wake up at 4am!!!!  That was a bit too much to handle.  We moved my ODS to one nap at around 15 months.  So I figured I can take another 3 months of this.

Have you seen this support thread hun? http://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=221026.0 It could be useful for you to see what others are doing with the 2:1 switch. I guess for now things are going OK so all you can do is ride it out, it took my DD 3 months of tweaking until she dropped to one nap at 12 months, so I feel your pain. ;)
