so this afternoon we put her donw for nap at 13:40 she fussed for 2:20 , she fell asleep at 16:00 !!! She slept 45 min!!!

ow we are at bed time 19:20, she started fussing!! After 5 minute she was down!

Should I interact with her telling through the door, "it is time to sleep" or just ignore her if she just fuss?

My poor little love she must be exhausted, I don't know what to do.. should I not go back to patting her back?

What does she actually do when she wakes at night?  Cry?  Fuss? Chatter?  Is she waking more or less now you have stopped the patting?

Do you medicate before bed to rule out teething?

Sorry for all the questions!

Hello Choc

Thank you for replying ;-) No worry for the questions it is helping me all to analyse more the situtation ;-)

She had been teething recently, now it looks like she is not. When she does she has a fussy behaviour and I can feel it on her gum.
We give her homeopathic remedy, and I don't do sleep training if she is teething.

When she wakes up, I would say she chatter in a complaining way, so I suppose she fusses
She fusses for a moment and then cry for 10 seconds, stop and go back to fussing...

Tonight she was just so tired, she had circle under her eyes! She didn't want to eat... she had a big tea time though.
I am glad she took 5 minutes tonight... maybe she is understanding it?

I bought a Gro clock, waiting for it to be deliverd.. might help her with day and night notions.
I bought the ocean wonder from fisher price, makes the sound of the ocean, I am gonna introduce this music to help her, so she can put the music on if she needs confort.
She hasn't got any teddy or transition object.

So is she waking more now, or when you were doing the patting?

I personally would still leave her if she fusses, as long as she is not distressed.

I would stick to your new easy for a few days, keep the long nap if you think she is OT.  How is she at bedtime?

She wakes up the same, but just take longer to go back to sleep... when we were patting and singing the first NW she would go back quickly... the second NW (in the morning often around 5) she would go back for 20 minutes and call us again... until 6:30....

What do you mean by distressed? = I need you mum call ?

today she did only 45 minutes nap and bedtime was quick... fuss for 5 minutes.
the 2 otherday with the long naps, bed time was long... but she looks tired, she looks like she is resisting sleep and fighting.

Tonight I gave her for the first time Rescue night remedy (Dr BACH Flowers) and an homeopatic sirup to help her "let go".

Yes the I need you call.

I wouldn't start the patting again, stick with that easy for a few days and leave her to settle herself at night as long as she isn't crying and see how things are in a few days.

There are better experts here than me who will be able to help you though!

thanks Choc

You do sound like an expert to me!! Thank you for the time you took!

 Any extra advice is welcome!

ON thing isn't clear to me...what do I do if she screams (i need you cry)? I PD and tap on her back until she stop the screaming or do I have to just do it with my voice after PD ?

Hi, I would do wi/wo, say your key phrase and then leave.  Be consistent, thats the key I think!

Hello Choc,

You know what? It has been 2 night she STTN!!!!
She was exhausted... she started a mild cough and a little cold.
First night: I put her down around 19:00 and she fussed 5 minutes, I heard her waking up at 4 am she complained 2 minutes and went back to bed... until 7:20 !
Second night: I put her around 19:00 she took 10 minutes to fall asleep! Woke up at 7:20 and then 7:45 she called me!

Naps are not to nice though... put her down around 13:00 and she takes 30 minutes sleeps 30 minutes or 45... she then look OT... but I think her cold is not helping to sleep long in the day. During the night she doesn't seem to mind.
I have tried to let her go back to sleep but she looks like it is not possible. She has been pooing every time during her nap... which doesn't help I have to change her.. so I think it is mixing her up, me coming in, staying ...etc..

I hope night will be as wonderfull as it is now.

Thanks for the help!

Hi there,
It sounds like you've made great progress.  WIWO is a wonderful tool at this age.  She is still on the younger side of being on one nap, so I'm thinking a 30-45 min nap is quite likely OT, but the A time of about 5.5 hrs seems right.

Is it the poop that's causing her to wake?  That happened to my DD *a lot* at that age.  Could you try offering her mid-day meal a little earlier, so hopefully she does the poop before the nap?  At 15 mo, I don't think she's likely to go back to sleep after you've been in to change her.  You'll either have to do a bit earlier bedtime or try for a short catnap around 4ish pm.

Thank you Katie80 and Choc,

Yes earlier lunch would be a good idea, I'll try it, not always easy with school schedule of my big boy to respect everone's schedule!
