Cant get 7 week old to nap

My little boy is 7 weeks old and I really struggle to get him to nap.

He is really good at going to bed at night but in the day he will only sleep well when out and about in car seat or pushchair. At home he will only sleep in my arms, if I let him fall asleep in my arms as soon as I put him in his cot he wakes up. At night I also put him down asleep and he often wakes up but he happily goes back to sleep on his own.

I have tried putting him down awake and he just screams.

I do the 4 s at nap and bedtime. I just don't know why it doesn't work in the day.

Because he won't sleep well in the day he is tired and grizzly all day.

How long is his A time before that first nap typically?
I had a terrible napper and its so hard on you too. Have you tried shh/pat in the cot once he is drowsy to settle in his cot? Even if you start trying this for 1 nap a day and let him sleep on you for the others (try pd after 20 mins when he is in deep sleep on the naps on you) he will get used to it.

Some Babies just need more contact than others and like being close. Have you go a sling or wrap you can use as you start to transition him to the cot. This gives you a bit more freedom
