extending 45min naps
« on: March 30, 2012, 18:46:41 pm »
Hello, I have a nearly 10 month old daughter who has been taking two 45min naps in the day and one catnap before dinner for the last month. I have recently (past 6 days) started doing PU/PD to try to extend her day time naps. I have also tried the wake to sleep. So far neither are getting her back to sleep during the day. Instead, once she is calm from PU/PD or just awake she just wants to roll around. Once she is calm, I stay in the room with her (otherwise she starts crying) and sit in a chair facing away from her crib. I don't say anything unless she starts to get fussy, in which case I "shhh" her and tell her "It's okay. Go back to sleep." I do this until time for her to get up from the extended nap. But then she is fussy and ready to nap again two hours later which is when her next feeding should start.
Should I just keep doing as I am?
Also, should I put her down for her next nap when she gets tired or wait till it would normally be time for her next nap?
:)

Sounds like she may be hitting the 2-1 transition hun...

45 min naps are generally UT... what is her current EASY?  How long is she awake before the first nap?
