napping and going to the child minder
« on: March 12, 2012, 19:45:10 pm »
My lo is 37 weeks now and in 6 weeks time he has to go to the childminder as I have to go back to work, it is breaking my heart and I am very stressed about it. At the minute he has 2 naps at about 10.30 am and at 3.00 pm. I have just shortened them a little as he was waking in the night so now he has about 2 hrs 30 mins across the day. I know these will need to be shortened even more soon and also when he goes to the child minder he has to wake for 4.00 pm. Should I try to slowly shorten his am nap and lengthen his pm nap? or should he have an hour for each nap soon? I know they are all different but I want to try to prepare him for napping at her house.

It really all depends on what LO prefers... I would suspect he will be giving cues that he is starting the 2-1 around the time he heads to CM... in that case, i would do a short AM, longer PM to ensure he doesn't pass out on the car ride home at the end of the day - leaving you with a BT battle :)
