DD2 is so much more efficient at the breast than DD1 ever was that I started giving her a little 'top up' before I put her down to sleep thinking it would help her sleep longer. She has never nursed to sleep, but it is part of our naptime routine. So, basically we have been doing EAESY - and with some success, she's been a good napper and puts herself to sleep when swaddled.
But we're trying to wean the swaddle and I'm going to have to do some sleep training (sigh, I've been super spoiled!). If I'm doing it anyway, I thought I'd try to get her off this second feeding so that I have a bit more freedom. Any tips? Should I just start the day with a really good full feeding and stop with the top-up, or cut back the top-up a few mins at a time (she doesn't eat that long anyway...)? The idea of getting to 4 hr EASY seems pretty remote right now...but should that be my goal? We're just starting to introduce solids but I do BLW so it is likely to be awhile before she's getting significant calories from her solids. She's just turning 6 mos this week and is EBF and pretty much STTN (usually a really long stretch with an early am feeding and back to bed till 7ish, but this swaddle issue is throwing some things off...).
Thanks for any tips.
