18month old asking for boobs all day!

Ok so yes I was here a few weeks ago upset that DD had refused a BT feed and thinking we'd come to the end, however that was a 1 night only abstinence!

We've been only doing BT feed a good long while now and dropped daytime feeds ages ago but for the last week or so DD is asking for boob loads everyday. Sometimes she can be distracted but other times is really persistent and refuses distractions or alternatives (e.g. milk in a cup, water etc) so I have been giving her a feed. Yesterday I fed her twice but today she has asked maybe ten times! Is this a bad thing to give in? I mean it's not really like I don't want to you know but I thought we were winding down and the whole pulling on my top and saying "boobs" over and over gets tiresome.

Any thoughts on this would be great! Thanks

Do you think she's feeling a bit poorly Hun? Teething maybe? I think you're doing the right thing distracting as much as you can. I didn't feed past 14mo so I'm not too sure

Sounds like she is needing the comfort hun... Maybe stick with the distraction aspect and see if it subsides... I wouldn't let her get upset though, just go ahead and offer if she is really persistent.

She's cutting canines all 4 of them at once but (and I'm whispering this very quietly here) they don't seem to be bothering her as in sleep is fine, no pain crying etc. Other than that she's fine. Like I say it's no real hassle to let her feed but I don't want to have to break a habit in a few weeks. She still has cow's milk in a cup first thing on a morning and after her nap. She often has a small amount with lunch and breakfast otherwise it's water or very diluted juice.

Posted at the same time as Kara. Thanks sweetie. I've not let her get upset over it- she is not a crier though.  I definitely think it could be a comfort thing as she's suddenly become quite cuddly too! I'm definitely not complaining about that though. She wants to feed for quite a long time and getting her off at BT has become hard so the more I think about it it sounds like a comfort thing. There's no prop issues though as she never even closes her eyes on the boob since we sleep trained to break feeding to sleep.

I bet it's those canines Nicola!  They are oddballs!  DD has had very little pain as well, but her paci is permanently in her mouth now.

She may be preferring it as a drink with the weather being warmer too.  But could equally be comfort for the teeth (nature's analgesic ) or a GS (yes, they still happen around every 6m, just not quite the same way as in babyhood)

Didn't even think of that!  And DH and I just commented on DD's crazy eating the last few days... you would think it would have been at the front of my thoughts!

These canines are so slow moving down though. They're taking ages to come through!

Still only 4 Amanda?  She is maybe just gonna skip baby teeth and go straight for adult ones

Yeah, that's what we're thinking!   She'll be the only child in senior school with all her baby teeth still!!
