Some doctors really make me mad.  His paed continues to tell me the reflux should be getting better now.  He's been saying that for the past 6 months every time I ask him why it seems to not be improving.

Argh, that's so frustrating!! I can't beleive you ladies don't get better support than that. >:( :(

So, if it's the Alimentum, I don't think you'll be able to tell within one night. Traces of things can take up to a couple weeks to get out of the system.  Could you add in a cluster BF somewhere in the late afternoon, early evening if you think he's still hungry?  But, on the other hand, if he tolerated it well before, I don't think it would change. :-\ I just didn't want to totally rule that out as being a cause, as it seemed to coincide with the NW.

However, I didn't remember you mentioning oatmeal before. Oatmeal can definitely be binding.  How long has he been having that?  I think sbchich's advice is really helpful and would definitely give it a try.  I can understand how you feel about juice, but actually after reading that, I remembered that my SIL had to do that with my oldest niece as well, and she is by no means a juice or sugar addict today (12 yr old).

I gave the apple juice with water today after lunch and he had only a 30 min nap in the PM and was really fussy.  Not saying it was the juice getting things moving, but he definitely seems out of sorts.  Then again, could just be OT since he woke sooo early today.  He also had a small poop right after I put him down for bed.  He was really upset.  I changed him and he went to sleep.  I think the stomach problems are definitely the problem here.

I did no formula tonight and will do no oatmeal cereal (he's been on it for about 2 weeks) for the next week.  Hope that will help.

(((HUGS))) Jenn

BTW, I now keep track of everything M eats in a food journal due to his allergies - I find it very useful. If you're interested, PM me and I can email you my template (excel).

I think so too, poor little guy. :'( I think Elise is right on with the journal, along with notes on his day like today. Surely if you end up seeing a specialist, they can't argue with that 'proof'. :-\

In regards to the juice-any fruit juice should work.  Maybe apple is creating more gas? There might be other juices that are milder.

Hugs!

Thanks ladies.  Need to get moving with helping DS feel better.  Will take him to a naturopath next week.
