How far away do you think the 2-1 might happen?  I didn't get it right this morning..... I had trouble working out what time my LO woke.... I heard him grizzling from 5am, but then he was 'playing' in his bed from about 5.45am (cause I don't want to get him up til 6am at the earliest!)  So.... I tried putting him down at 9.30am, but probably should have waited 15mins or so longer as we only had a 30min nap this morning and he was awake at 10am.

I have also noticed his morning wakes getting earlier.... regardless of whether the day before has been a good/average/bad sleep day..... is there any way I can ease this back to a more reasonable time, as 5am is starting to push it slightly, in my opinion anyway!  Or is this something I just need to deal with.

Is bedtime of 7pm ok do you think?  And is this when he should be asleep and settled, or when I put him down for the first time?  Sometimes he is a little unsettled for a couple of hours, takes me a few times of going in and reassuring before he is asleep 'properly'.

After a short Am nap like that iwould try again after 2.5 hrs or so for a PM map and hope fora long one. Otherwise OU just haveto do more naps, and EBT.
I would PD for the night early really, 6pm...sometimes a later night with OT causes a short night and Ew whereas an earlier BT helps them to cat h up and they sleep longer. :-*

The 2-1 is a process really, it took us 1-2 mths for Z to be completely on 1 nap solidly. Once we were though his night sleep improved a lot too :)

Thanks!  :)  How will I know when to try the 1 day sleep?

The other day my LO was up for 5hrs without becoming grizzly/irritable.  He only slept for 45mins though after that, so I don't know.... :-(

I just took him in to put him down for his sleep but he is not showing signs of being more than slightly tired - and he's had a 30min sleep and been up 4.25hrs now since that!!  I'm confused again.  :-(

Maybe we are there??  Should I try one sleep yet, or am I risking disaster?

He started showing tired signs after 5hrs awake time.... I tried a nap earlier, but he wasn't going to have a bar of it!  (If he is tired, he will go down no problems generally.)  We resorted to a ride in the car, which saw him wake at 4.15pm - now I'm going to try and give him a good amount of A time before bed tonight and cross fingers.  I'm a little confused now as to when to put him down tomorrow.  Should I try after an A time of 4.5hrs maybe?

Here is some info that may help :)

http://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=41952.0
And the 2-1 support thread

Really the 2-1 is a bit messy, you end up with some 1 nap days and some 2 nap days depending on the night before, or How long LO naps for etc. you really want 1 good nap of 2-3 hrs and LO capable of 4.5 hrs A before you can drop the second nap/CN completely. :-*

Thank you thank you thank you.  At least I can see that this irregularity is "normal" and have some faith that the 5-56am wake ups we are currently getting (our "happy" wake up time is more like 7-7.30am!) may ease in time.  :-)

Todays first nap is happening at 10am again, and so far seems to be going pretty well....

I will read thru the links you provided and try and stay calm and positive that "this too shall pass"!  :-)

It will pass :-*
Have a think about if you want to cap the am or pm nap, as eventually one will go while the other gets closer to over lunch.

Wow, just when I thought we were getting there last week - this week things have turned upside down again!  He is 10 months old today, but surely that doesn't change his A time that much???!

Could you give me some guidance as to where to start again with A times?  Should I stick to 4 hours regardless?  I also believe we are teething again, which makes things very hard, but I have not once managed to get him to sleep in his bed for a nap in a whole week now.  :-(  He was fighting that first nap like mad, and I don't know if it was teething pain (even thought I give pain meds) or his A time gone wonky again?

Today he only had one sleep which was on me while feeding from 12-2pm.  He was pretty OT by bedtime.  :-(

Feels like 1 step forward, 2 steps back....

Teething can totally mess around with your A times ;)
You could have a look here: http://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=164031.0 re A times and how long they should approx. be.
Like Sara said, it would be a good idea to think about capping one of the naps, but of course you'd need to wait a few days because of the teething.

Hugs also if you can on a 1 nap day like this go for EBT - hopefully LO tacks on overnight!
