Cautiously optimistic!
« on: August 26, 2012, 21:08:11 pm »
Since I like to torment myself... I made DD a smoothie today using whole cow's milk... just blended it with a chunk of banana, and a handful of blueberries/strawberries.  Not only did she love the taste and guzzle about 4 ozs of it in about 5 minutes... but, NO REACTION!!!!

She has always had a cow's milk based formula without any issues... the one she had until recently was entirely whey protein (no caesin)... I transitioned her easily to a stage 2 formula that contains both caesin and whey with no reaction so thought I would give milk a try again...

We might be ready to move to milk!  Now I just have to get her to like the taste of it ::)  Picky toddler.

It really is!  She hasn't developed a taste for plain milk just yet but a bit of fruit blended in does the trick for snack time ;)  Three days in a row with some milk taken and zero reaction!

A huge relief I bet! No more checking ingredient listings!

I was really lucky in that she has only ever had issue with actual cow's milk in the pure form... she is fine with all other dairy and can have milk-based sauces etc that have been cooked ;)

... and so DH mentioned to me that she seems a little more "on edge" and more prone to melt downs (she is almost 2!)... wondering if it's the milk so gonna cut it out again and see where we are...

Totally!  She is a complete heathen today and no milk... I don't think it was the milk - I suspect language related - she is really trying to speak so much more now!

That and I noticed this morning that her little lady bits are red... too much bubble bath :(
