DD wont stay in bed
« on: September 18, 2012, 02:39:54 am »
DD is 3.5 years old and suddenly wont stay in bed. She comes out every 10 minutes sometimes for 2-3 hours before finally staying in bed and going to sleep. It started with her coming out because she had pooped in her diaper. Then, when we brought the new babies home, she stopped having a reason for coming out.

We have tried silently taking her back to bed, telling her to stay in bed, consoling her (she is usually crying when we put her back to bed), and taking her stuffed animals away. We have tried lengthening her nap, and going without a nap. Nothing works! There is nothing consistent that makes her stay in bed, she just eventually doesn't come out anymore.  She is starting to come out at nap time too.

Please HELP!! We are getting SO frustrated!

Hi there,
At 3.5 she may be coming out at naptime because she is UT tbh.....could you post your routine.
I would put up a stair gate or similar to stop her coming out.
Does she have a gro-clock? We use one with DS and it really helps to emphasise when it is time to be in bed and when it is time to get up xx
