Where should he nap?
« on: January 09, 2013, 20:28:58 pm »
Hi,

I have a 9 week old little boy, and we are just starting the implementation of the EASY routine. Right now he sleeps when he wants and I have been keeping him with me in the lounge with the lights up and sounds as I think that he might have a bit of day/night confusion . He has been swaddled and usually goes into a swing and sleeps fairly well. Im trying to watch for sleep cues (he seems sleepy most of the time!) and try to have that 1st nap in the morning upstairs in his cot in our room so I can get in a shower etc.  Where should I have him napping as he is all over the place?! If I need to go out he will fall asleep in the car/ stroller as well so I try to do this only when he should hypothetically be napping! EEECK!

I'm not going to give you much nap advice since I'm still sorting out my LO's naps but I will let you know that DD spent a lot of naps in her swing at 2-3 months because she was colicky and it was no problem to get her sleeping in her crib later on.  I also had the falling asleep in the stroller problem so limited our walks to nap time :)

As far as squeezing a shower into your day, my sister gave me one of the best baby tips I ever received: put your babe in a chair in the bathroom with you and shower when he's awake.  The steam is good for him and you don't have to worry about him waking up and needing you while you're showering.  It works great for us!
