EASY issues
« on: December 13, 2012, 02:46:44 am »
My DD is 20 weeks old and still having EASY issues although have been doing it since birth. Could someone ake a look.  I am hoping to start independent sleep but want to ensure my EASY is tweaked.
E  Up 7:30 ( wake her)
S.  9:30 (trying to push out but can get quite grossly)- 11:30
E.   11:30
S.   1:45- 2:25 ( short nap no matter what- wakes up happy)
E.   3:30
S.  4:15 - 5:00 (have to ensure I hold off until 4:15 although short nap to make sure she sleeps until 5)
E.  7:15. Takes 40 min at least of rocking and may be up a couple times at 20 or 40 min mark

DF. 10:30 and then sleeps until I wake her at 7:30 am

CN is terrible bout of crying every night.

Please let me know what you think?

Hi Hon- can be a pain when they are fighting the cat nap!! You are doing really well in the AM though! Im wondering if she might be able to handle more A time after that great night and great AM nap- push it up over the 2 hour mark and see if you get a longer nap. If you don't get a longer nap then possibly try offerring less A time after the second nap? she may be not able to handle as much A time after the 40 min nap- she may be OT by the time you are trying for the cat nap.

Thank you so I am at 2 hr and 15 min after first am nap should I try 2.5 hours.  I agree prob overtired by catnap but I need her to go down no earlier than 4:20 to get her to at least five.  Unfortunately she was up a couple of times last night.  I was able to get her back to sleep.  Do you think a 3 am wakeup could be because of being OT by bed?

Ah- i just did my maths again... 20 weeks is getting close to 5 months isn't it.. If so- you are probably heading into the 3-2 transition- have a read of this sticky:

All about the 3-2 transition- 5/6 months

That cat nap is going to get more annoying until you can finally ditch it! the 3am waking can be because of undertired- what was she like at 3am? crying and fusing or happy and chatting- ready for a party?

Thank you. No she wakes up crying twice in the middle of night which is odd.  Pushed out second A and got a great nap.  She must be a high A baby as it is 2 hr and 15 min.  I now have to get her off of sleeping on nap nanny and then tackle sleeping independently I think.  I appreciate your help.  I will keep pushing out A time.  I really would love to get rid of catnap as I have three year old.

For my guy the A time increases was always the key! And you really don't want to be trying to wean a prop unless you KNOW that the A time etc is all correct- otherwise you'll be doubly up against it!!
