spits up in the morning after night time BF

hi there, I'm not sure if it's the right board to post, but anyway...

for the second day in a row dd [3 wo] spat up a lot [I  know it looks worse than it really is but still...] in the morning [around 6am] while last feed was at night at 4am. Of course, she was showing hunger cues at 6 but we picked her up, changed her and after some 30 minutes I went back to our bed with her and she slept happily until 8 am. I know my letdown is strong but until now she would just eat and fall asleep at the breast at night [we co-sleep] and wake happy in the morning.

I'm thinking I need to get up to feed her in a more vertical position maybe? Any ideas?

Laid back nursing will help gravity to work against the flow and stop LO needing to gulp to cope with an overactive let down. That should reduce the amount of air that she swallows.

well, but that's exactly what we're doing right now- I feed her lying down on the side and she still spits up :/ or do you mean yet sth else?

By laid back I mean sitting up but reclining. The idea being that your nipples are pointing up more and LO is face down on you. Here is a great website with more info. http://www.biologicalnurturing.com/
I prop myself up with pillows against the headboard of the bed and then slide my bottom forwards to lay back a bit.
Does that make more sense?

I just checked the site- that's exactly how I fed Nina in the first days in the hospital I hope it works with her a bit bigger, lol

It was better this morning although I managed one feed in that manner only - for the second one I was too sleepy and forgot, upps.
Lo seemed kind of surprised but she latched on nicely.

I'm not sure if you use a feeding pillow but I find it much easier when I do. Then LO OS supported and I don't have to hold his weight.

Even a couple pillows from your bed would serve...

wow, no way, I'm too chaotic- I'd probably drop the pillows with the baby or sth I've seen my friend use one huge nursing pillow and thought it looked ridiculous [haven't used anything like that with DD1] but actually now I think it might work for us
