Pillow
« on: February 06, 2013, 20:35:50 pm »
My LO is 1 and has always slept on her tummy.  She likes to sleep right at the top of her cot and therefore bangs her head frequently on the wooden headboard!  When is it OK for them to have a pillow?  Also worries me to give her a pillow as she sleeps on her front and is so little.  Cannot remember when DD1 had one but she was completely different!  :D

Don't know where you live but in the UK advice is not before 1. I have been thinking about putting a baby pillow in LO's  (he's 1) cot under the sheet. He sleeps on his front too. Interested to hear ppl's BTDT experience!

I have just given my ds a pillow a couple of weeks ago - he is nearly 21 months. I was a bit concerned about giving it to him as he is a tummy sleeper too, but he moves around all over the cot and bangs his head on the headboard constantly as well. ::) He is getting on okay with it - it took him a few nights to get used to it, but I do think that he is sleeping a bit better now that he is.

I know that we gave dd1 a pillow when she was quite a bit younger, but she slept on her back, and I can't remember when we gave it to dd2 (tummy sleeper), but I'm pretty sure she was no more than 18 months.
