5 am wake up....no matter what time to bed!
« on: February 07, 2013, 10:45:23 am »
Sweet 10 month old girl wakes between 5 and 5:30 no matter what we do. Early to bed. Late to bed. Doesn't seem particularly hungry at waking - have tried feeding her but she won't go back to sleep so now we just wait until 6 am.  We generally try not to go to her before 6 but we have had to start as she wakes our 5 year old with all her "talking" and we can't afford to have both up 5 am ESP as 5 year old has a full day of school.

She is a big girl at 23 lbs, eats a lot in the day, is fairly active and can stay awake for 3.5 ish hours at a time.  Naps twice a day, puts herself to sleep, self soothes well......schedule is roughly:

5-5:30 am -wake up
6 am -bottle 4-5 oz.
7:15/30 am - breakfast
8:15 am - walk outdoors
9 am - nap - lasts between 1.5-2 hours
10:45/11 am - wake up
Same routine except instead of outdoor walk we go to library or class or errands
2:15-30 pm - nap - can be about 1-1.5 hours always up by no later than 4 to go get my other daughter
Same routine with bath and bedtime routine added in
Down for night btw 7:15-45 pm

Wondering how to get her sleeping a bit later in morning.
Any help would be so awesome!

Think you need to start cutting her day sleep.......have a look at this link: 10/ 11mo sleep gone wonky? Read this first! . I would probably head down the route of pushing out her morning nap and capping it shorter to discourage the early wakings, but have a read of all the information and see what you think :)
