dream feed, burping and waking up
« on: January 25, 2013, 15:38:03 pm »
hi there,

i dream feed my LO--4 months-- at 1030pm.  She is sleeping while she eats, but then as i try to burp her over my shoulder, she wakes up and fusses.  then it takes her 30 min to fall asleep again.  we have tried not burping her, but then she wakes up all gassy.

what to do please???

Are you patting her back to burp?  Maybe try a gentle upwards rubbing to get the bubbles out?

Has she always woken up right as you put her up on your shoulder or is this new?

Generally speaking, you don't have to burp with the DF...

Any other issues with being gassy/fussy during day feeds??  Maybe time to increase nipple flow?  Babies can be more gassy if they are taking in more air from really trying to suck on a nipple that is too slow, so could be?
