Hi! This past week my 10mo ds has been refusing his afternoon nap! He will either cry or play while in bed. This makes for a horrible evening! His EASY is as follows. (I will just list AS)

A 7am
S 10am
A 11:30am
S 2pm
A 3:30pm
BT 7:15pm

I usually just follow his cues for when he is getting tired. He still acts tired in the afternoon, so I lay him down. But this week he is refusing to sleep! I almost always have to wake him from his morning nap. Should I not wake him? Wake him sooner? I have tried having a longer A time in the afternoon but it didn't make a difference. Thanks for any help!

Hi your second nap looks UT if he's fighting to sleep as its only 2.5h a!! Average a times are 3-4 hrs at this age. the first a is usually shortest for most Los and as your first a is 3hrs you could prob do with an increase in second a. I know u mentioned increasing it to no avail but it takes a few days for Los to adjust to new a time. I would increase second a to 3h and hold for a few days and if you're still getting short nap refusal then increase a time again.

Also I would only cap first nap if its 2hrs not less as it will lead to OT.

Is my baby ready to increase his ‘A’ time? (incl. 'A' times for younger babies)

Typical Amounts of Day and Night Sleep

You should be aiming for 2x 1.5hr naps so

Wu 7
Nap 10-11.30
Nap 2.30-4
BT 7
