AAAHH! another night of baby daughter wanting to be fed every 2 hours. I expect she doesn't need the milk but I have always given her breast, which has probably got me where I am now! But 1st time mum so learning all the time! D eats 3 meals a day plus snacks and breast offered as a top up to meals + morning and bedtime feed. Any body suggest an EASY routine that would help me begin to get my sleep back?

Oops! that would have been good to post in the first place. She is 7 and a half months and quite a small baby only weighing 6.5kg.

Ok! Its funny the things you can forget to mention!!

At 7 months you are looking at having 2 naps in the day and 3-3.5 hours A time between the naps. Generally you would be feeding after every nap, and at bed time- so i think 4 feeds is what people are generally on at 7 months. I'm not sure how 3 feeds will be impacting the night wakings- but the A time and too many naps may. How much A time is he doing at the moment?

Thanks for your reply. I have increased activity time, decreased naps to two, one at 10 and one about 2 and tried four milk feeds today, morning, evening and a feed after each nap, so will see how tonight goes. She was very tired so she was in bed by 5.45 but this should be ok as I go to work tomorrow and will need to be up at 6 to get us all ready. I also moved her last meal forward so that she was still alert and hungry for a good feed of milk before bed.
Having said all this last night was better (only 3 wake ups), we did give her teething gel as I thought I could see a white fleck of one of her top teeth coming through which may have been the underling issue. Regardless of this it is nice to get a routine for the day and night together. Before all this I was trying to get her to nap 2 - 2.5 hours after wake up, which may have been why getting her to nap has been quite difficult too.

I think its to do with day feeds. yesterday I was at work and left Lola with my mum and some expressed milk in a bottle. I forgot to tell my mum to put it in a cup as Lola doesn't like the bottle and so she didn't have any, although she did eat and have water throughout the day, so she didn't starve! and as a result she was up every 2 hours or so last night wanting a feed. So will get expressing and remind my mum about the cup next Tuesday, and in the mean time continue with four feeds and 2 naps and hope tonight is better.
Thanks
