Lying awake at night
« on: January 29, 2013, 20:12:22 pm »
Just a quick question i have recently noticed that my LO (5 months old) lies awake in her cot at night. It was by pure accident that i decide to pop my head in and look at her and she was awake, an hour later still awake. I did the same the following night and sure enough she was awake. When she slept in our room i would check and she was always asleep.

Is this normal?

Not sure if it's normal but my DD (9 months) does the same thing.  She first started this around 4-5 months.  She would "chat" to herself in the middle of the night, sometimes for up to 1 hour!  But then she goes back to sleep just fine.  It doesn't happen every night though.

Its strange isn't it, my Lo doesn't even talk she just lies with her eyes wide open for over an hour looking around then she will go back to sleep too.

I guess its not doing her any harm, i just like to think she is having a good sleep  ;)
