Question about 1 hr naps... (for a 6mo)
« on: January 23, 2013, 20:58:43 pm »
Ok, so what I've heard on other posts is that 30min naps are OT and 45min naps are UT and 1.5 are restorative. So what would you classify a 1hr and 15 min nap? My DD has been waking at the 1hr and 15 min mark consistently over the past couple days for her morning and afternoon naps. Still doing a 30min CN in the evening. Is that enough sleep for a 6mo? I know we're on the verge of cutting out the CN, but there's still too much time between her afternoon nap and bedtime and she's not ready for much A increase yet (right now it's anywhere from 2 hr 30 min to 2 hr 45 min). Kind of unsure on what to do about these naps or if I need to do anything at all? TIO!!

For us, anything between 45 mins and 1hr30 was generally UT - that or teeth, but if it's consistent, I'd say a little UT. I'd try a small A increase, 10 mins or so, and hold for 3-4 days to see how she adjusts. On the other hand, they are still pretty good length naps so if she's seeming happy and well-rested, and you're not getting any new EWs or NWs, you could hold until something else changes ;)
