How long after cat nap do you put to bed?

My LO is currently attempting to drop the cat nap- causing a lot of OT'ness!

Today his naps went off first thing as he only did 45 mins! It means he's goig to need cat nap! He's on A time 2hr 45- 3hr. He woke after his 2nd nap at 1:20 so should I let him have a cat nap at 4.20 for 30 mins and out to bed at usual time of 6.30? I don't want him UT at BT so a bit confused?

Hi I'd have the CN and be guided by LO for BT as I've found my LO has short A to BT anyway! Doubt you'd get UT from 30 mins especially if naps been bad! Generally I knock a good 30-40 mins off A time to next sleep if nap less than an hour.

I am going through the exact same transition with DD but our A time is slightly shorter at 2.5hrs (she is 6mo this week). How about a shorter catnap, maybe 15-20 minutes? I have tried that some days and it seems to be just enough to get them through to BT without upsetting the BT too much.

Thanks guys! He's currently fast asleep in car (I'm parked outside our house and not moving until he's had 20mins. He's then got around 2 hours until normal BT but ill see if he needs more/less A! Wish me luck! I can't cope with another OT night! Lol! Good luck to you guys too! I'm finding planning my day so difficult when this happens!
