routine (or lack of!) on holiday
« on: March 26, 2013, 19:17:41 pm »
Okay so LO is 15 months and we have transitioned to one nap and have been in a great routine of wake 615ish nap 11:30-1:30 (not always 2hrs but you can't have it all!) Bed 7:00 (11+hrs in this house?! I never thought I would see the day!!). Cue.... Holiday. We are away for a week with my sister BIL, niece (3yr) and nephew (6 months). LO wil not do anymore than 30mins if not in a cot and dark room. The last 2 days he has done 2 x 30min naps. He is coping well on it and it did not affect last nights sleep but I know OT is going to creep up on us and whack me over the head with a baseball bat at some point soon!! So my question is WWYD? Try and protect his midday nap (which basically means staying in til afterwards restricting activities) or throw the routine out the window and mop up the mess when we get home??

Me, I'd deal with it once we're home. Maybe take one day in the middle of the holiday when everyone else goes out and you stay home with him to try and get a good nap - but other than that as long as he isnt a complete mess, I'd ride it out and enjoy the family time.
