Hi there,
Anyone else had issues with toddlers eating because of enlarged tonsils? My 3.5 yr old DS has been having eating issues for about a year, we've been to a speech pathologist how specialises in children's eating disorders and she said he did have some food "jags" (where you get stuck eating one type of food and exclude others) and a habbit of chewing but not swallowing food and she mentioned his tonsils were quite large. As far as I can tell, he has never had tonsilitis, they are just naturally large - to the point where the bit that dangles down in the middle is touching one of the tonsils. We've worked through a lot of his food issues, but the last couple of days he is complaining that he can't swallow because his tounge is in the way. Last night he had a ham and cheese sandwhich for dinner (after DD's birthday party so had an easy dinner!) and this morning instant porridge and he wouldn't eat either. He does snore as well so I'm concerned it could affect his sleep too.
I'm going to take him to the doctors as I'm considering surgery, but want to hear from others if they've had similar issues?
