Please advise b4 I give up!!!!
« on: April 16, 2013, 16:12:08 pm »
Hi
I have a 23 month old text book/angel daughter who was on a resllt good EASY and still is but I'm finding it near impossible to get my 20 week old son on an eASY.

he is textbook/spirited I'd say and whilst the order EaS is just about manageable...I cannot get him to nap for more than 30 kind in his cot - I at all. I think shhh/pat and pu/pd would work as e does have a feed to sleep association. Tr problem is I can't leave my dd for the length of time it takes! She's a good girl but starts calling for me and or knocking on the door after 10/15 mins.
 Any advise would hem appreciated

Thanks in advance

Lissie x

Hi and welcome.
Have you seen these FAQs with some ideas on how to settle a baby with a toddler running around? Settling 10 day old for naps with 2yr old to care for! How?!
Ideas for how to sleep train and deal with naps with #2

Do you have anyone who could help you, perhaps over the weekend? Your partner, mum or a friend? If you could make a start over the two days you have help things would hopefully be better by the time you were back on your own.

Can you post his typical day so we can see how long he is awake and asleep?

Oh yes so he is obviously very OT. Will he sleep in the sling or pushchair so he can get a decent sleep while you get out with your DD?

Is he sleeping through the night or waking? Any NFs? Have you tried feeding him and resettling him at 5.30am?

Do any of the ideas from the links I posted in my first post look like they might work for you?

Tried to settle at 5.30 but he seems wide awake and rearing
To go! He sleeps through it sometimes wakes for feed at about 4amish.

Yes sometimes he does sleep in car etc
But as he's got a big dose spirited he can't sleep
If there's any distraction x

Maybe white noise to drown out the noise of your DD and help him get a longer nap. Lit saves on the shushing for shh pat too ;)

You can just search free white noise on the web and get lots of tracks you can download. I have this http://cantonbecker.com/music/white-noise-sleep-sounds/mp3s.php which I played on my iPod via speakers in LOs room. You can buy special white noise machines and "sleep sheep" or CDs but I didn't want to pay ;)
